I am very excited to announce that my store on Etsy is finally open. It is over a month past my intended opening date, but better late than never right?
There were a few hiccups and some things took longer than I had originally thought. I’m new to this biz and I am learning as I go. I decided to start out small and simple, add things as I go and see where that takes me. Hopefully far.
As of right now, I am not doing any custom orders due to the fact that I am using repurposed items. I would hate for a customer to want to buy a bag and I not have the material they wanted. In the future I think I might like to try custom orders. I also think it would be great to incorporate vegan leather, hemp fabric, and other sustainable materials into my designs. We shall see.
Down the road I want to get a decent DSLR camera. From all the things I read, good quality pictures go a long way to help sell your product. Right now I am using either my phone or my ipod, because both take better pictures than my digital camera. And although both the phone and ipod get the job done, the images still aren’t as crisp and clear as I want after editing.
I have also been thinking about giveaways and press releases as ways to advertise and possibly garner more sales.
So even though I have the store up and running, I still have a long way to go.
If you have a moment stop on by Second Glory and tell me what you think. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Below are some images of the bags you can find on my shop page.
